How it all started

So, let me tell you how I fell in love with embroidery!  A few months ago, I was flipping through a magazine at the doctor’s office and fell upon this:

Martha Steward Whole Living article.

And that was it!  I thought that is was beautiful, and that it was something I could do; embroidering an existing pattern!  Because, let it be said, I cannot draw to save my life!  In art class in middle school, we had to draw a cat.  I drew a sitting cat, from the back 🙂 Creative idea but the teacher did not much care for it.  Oh well.

Since reading the article about embroidery, I have made a few bags, and  embroidered one side, just a touch of embroidery.  The point is not to cover the fabric, but to enhance its patterns.  Like this:

Here are a few examples of the bags I have made so far:

I am about to start a new one for my daughter Noa 🙂

Have a great day!  And create something, anything!

  1. Hi Edwige, this is soooo exciting. I hope you get hooked on sewing just like I did!
I’d love to see what projects you are working on.
